Who should not use Bactroban ointment?

People who are allergic or sensitive to any of the ingredients in Bactroban (mupirocin) ointment should not use the medication. The ingredients are mupirocin, polyethylene glycol 3350 and polyethylene glycol 400. Bactroban ointment has not been proven safe or effective for children under two months of age and should not be used on these children.
