Who should not take Advair HFA?

Certain people should not use Advair HFA in order to avoid potential complications or side effects. If you're allergic to any ingredient in Advair HFA, you shouldn't use this medication. If you're taking certain medications (such as azole antifungals, macrolide antibiotics, HIV protease inhibitors or other asthma medications), don't use Advair HFA. Children under 12 years of age should not take Advair HFA, and teenagers should use it with caution.

Talk to your doctor before using Advair HFA if:
  • you have a history of diabetes, heart problems, high blood acid levels, glaucoma, high blood pressure, liver problems, thyroid problems, nervous system problems or seizures
  • you have any type of infection or have recently had a vaccination
  • your asthma is especially bad or if you've recently been hospitalized for asthma attacks
  • you have osteoporosis or an increased risk for osteoporosis
  • you are pregnant or breastfeeding
