What are the side effects of Elocon ointment (mometasone)?

You may be allergic to Elocon ointment (mometasone) if you have trouble breathing; swelling in the face, lips, tongue or neck; an itchy rash; or hives. If you have these symptoms, get immediate medical assistance. Other serious side effects include: oozing or pus from the affected area, a new infection or your condition failing to improve. Contact your doctor as soon as possible about these side effects. Call your doctor if these side effects persist or bother you: dryness, irritation, itching or burning in the affected area; skin color changes; acne; or skin sores.
