What are the more serious side effects of tiotropium?

The more serious side effects of tiotropium (Spiriva HandiHaler) include:
  • headaches
  • eye pain or blurred vision
  • red eyes
  • seeing colored images or halos around lights
  • hives or skin rash
  • chest pain or fast heartbeat
If you experience any of these side effects, call your doctor right away. Also call your doctor if you experience these less serious side effects if they bother you or won't go away:
  • runny nose, nosebleed or sneezing
  • vomiting, indigestion or stomach pain
  • dry mouth or painful white patches in mouth
  • constipation
  • muscle pain
Do not stop taking tiotropium without talking to your doctor first.
