Beclomethasone dipropionate monohydrate is a corticosteroid that is used to treat nasal allergy symptoms such as congestion, sneezing, and runny nose. The steroid in the medication prevents certain chemicals from causing the nasal irritation that leads to these symptoms. The medication may also be used as a treatment after surgery to remove nasal polyps to prevent the polyps from returning. It is prescribed under the brand name Beconase AQ.
