What should I avoid while taking Serevent?

While you are using Serevent, you should avoid any other medication containing salmeterol (the active ingredient in Serevent). You also should not use an inhaled bronchodilator that is similar to Serevent, such as formoterol or arformoterol. When you are using Serevent, try not to exhale into the device. While using Serevent, you also should avoid using certain other medications. Among others, these include: diuretics, clarithromycin, telithromycin, beta-blockers, antidepressants, HIV or AIDS medications, MAO inhibitors, decongestants, aminophylline and theophylline. Also, avoid caffeine and diet medicines while using Serevent.
