What should I avoid while taking Brovana?

While taking Brovana (arformoterol), a drug prescribed for adults to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), you should avoid:
  • taking any other medications or supplements without talking to your doctor first. Brovana may interact with other drugs and dietary or herbal supplements, potentially causing harm.
  • becoming pregnant. Brovana has not been proved safe for use during pregnancy.
  • breastfeeding. Brovana may not be safe to take while you are nursing a baby.
  • sharing your medication
  • taking a larger or smaller dose of Brovana than your doctor prescribed or taking it more or less frequently than recommended
  • missing medical appointments. Your doctor may want to monitor you closely while you take Brovana.
  • swallowing or injecting Brovana. The drug is meant to be taken with a nebulizer, a machine that turns liquid Brovana into a mist that you can inhale with a face mask or mouthpiece. Do not mix any other medicines with Brovana in the nebulizer.
  • using Brovana to relieve sudden worsening symptoms of COPD or other acute severe breathing problems. Brovana is meant to be used as a maintenance medicine to help you manage and minimize your COPD symptoms. Your doctor may prescribe other medications to use in a breathing emergency.
  • stopping Brovana without talking to your doctor first .
