Yes, one serious risk in taking Xolair (omalizumab) is anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic reaction that can occur if you have an adverse reaction to the drug. Doctors routinely ask people taking Xolair to remain at the medical facility for some time after their injection, in case anaphylaxis occurs. People who receive Xolair have higher rates of rash, bleeding-related side effects, various gastrointestinal side effects and female urinary tract infections and menstrual difficulties.
