What are the side effects of Spiriva (tiotropium)?

Signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction are the most important side effects to watch out for while taking Spiriva (tiotropium). These include difficult breathing, swelling of the lips, tongue, and throat; a sudden rash; or itching. Decreased urination is a side effect of tiotropium. You may notice white patches in your mouth or on your lips. Your mouth will most likely be dry. Your nose may bleed or become stuffed up. You may have a cough with some hoarseness and difficulty swallowing. Abdominal pain, upset stomach, or constipation may occur. Other side effects include increased heart rate, drowsiness, muscle soreness, chest pain, vomiting, and respiratory infections. You may become depressed while taking tiotropium.
