What should I know about Elocon lotion (mometasone) before using it?

Before using Elocon lotion (mometasone) you should tell your doctor if you have any allergies to mometasone or any other medications. Notify your doctor of any medications or supplements you are currently taking; let your doctor know if you have ever had diabetes, cataracts, glaucoma or if you are pregnant or nursing. Side effects of the Elocon lotion may include itching, burning, dryness, acne, lesions or changes in skin color. You need to continue seeing your doctor to monitor your response to Elocon lotion. You should not wrap, bandage, diaper or apply makeup over a treated area.
