Is ipratropium safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

It is not known whether it is safe to use ipratropium inhalers or nasal spray while you are pregnant, but it is not recommended. If you are pregnant, you and your doctor should discuss whether the potential benefits of using ipratropium to treat your symptoms outweigh the potential risks to your unborn baby. It is also not known whether it is safe to use ipratropium while you are breastfeeding. Your doctor might recommend that you stop breastfeeding while you take this medication.
