How soon after starting Serevent will my symptoms subside?

Although some people using Serevent (salmeterol) notice a reduction in symptoms sooner than others, speak with your doctor if you don't notice any improvement within one week. Be aware that Serevent is used to prevent asthma attacks and chronic COPD. It is not intended for use during an acute attack. Also, Serevent is not meant to be used alone; it should be paired with another asthma or COPD medication, usually an inhaled corticosteroid.
