How does Elocon ointment work?

Elocon ointment contains medicine that belongs to a family of drugs known as corticosteroids. Corticosteroids are used to treat problems that can occur with your body's immune system. Normally, your immune system protects you against germs and other invaders that can cause infection and make you sick. However, sometimes the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue. This can result in a condition called inflammation, which may produce various symptoms. The corticosteroids in Elocon ointment reduce inflammation. That helps to relieve common symptoms of some skin disorders, such as itching and discomfort.
