Clindamycin-tretinoin is a topical combination gel formulation used to treat acne vulgaris. It contains two active ingredients: the antibiotic clindamycin and the retinoid tretinoin. The antibiotic interferes with susceptible strains of the bacteria associated with acne vulgaris: Propionibacterium acnes. The tretinoin helps to reduce the layers of the epidermis by increasing cell turnover. It is available as a gel under the brand names Veltin and Ziana.
