Who should not use Priftin?

People who are allergic to any ingredient in Priftin (rifapentine) tablets shouldn't take it. People who have liver disease should be evaluated carefully to determine whether Priftin is an appropriate treatment, and those who do take Priftin should receive regular liver tests. Priftin probably should not be administered to people with porphyria and should be used with caution in people who are HIV positive. Pregnant women should discuss the risks of taking Priftin with their doctor. Parent's of children under 12 should also be made aware of the risks of Priftin before giving it to their children.
