What is tinidazole?

Tinidazole is an antiprotozoal agent used to treat infections of the intestines or vagina and to treat some sexually transmitted diseases, such as trichomoniasis. Tinidazole is the active ingredient in the brand-name drug Tindamax. Tinidazole is available as a tablet. It is usually taken once a day for three to five days.
