What is Biltricide?

Biltricide is the brand name for the drug praziquantel, a drug used to treat parasite infestations like schistosoma worms and liver flukes. Schistosoma worms live in some parts of Asia, the Caribbean, South America, the Middle East and Africa. They penetrate the body through the skin and infest the blood. Liver flukes are found in East Asia. They spread through contaminated fish. Biltricide is classed as an anthelmintic. It is usually administered by mouth in three doses, four to six hours apart.
