The common and minor side effects of pyrimethamine (Daraprim) include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, appetite loss, insomnia, headache, lightheadedness, and dry mouth. Seek immediate medical attention for more serious side effects, including rash or red spots on the skin, sore throat or tongue, bruising, tongue swelling, pale skin, black or bloody stools, cough, hoarseness, fever or chills, pain, and difficulty urinating.

Seek immediate medical attention by calling 911 if you have an allergic reaction, characterized by difficulty breathing, hives, or throat closing.
