What are the side effects of metronidazole injection?

Possible side effects of using metronidazole injection include: diarrhea, vomiting, upset stomach, loss of appetite, dark or reddish-brown urine, furry tongue, mouth or tongue irritation, dry mouth, sharp or unpleasant metallic taste in the mouth and tingling or numb hands or feet. More severe side effects may include fever, joint pain, rash, stuffy nose or itching. Call your doctor immediately if you experience severe side effects. Also, inform your doctor if you experience any side effects that are severe or persistent.
