Does Priftin interact with other medications?

Priftin (rifapentine) does interact with some other medications. Birth control pills may work less effectively while you take this drug. HIV/AIDS medications, specifically protease inhibitors and reverse transcriptase inhibitors, may interact with Priftin as well. Some of these drugs include indinavir, ritonavir, stavudine, and zidovudine. Priftin may also cause a wide variety of other medications to be metabolized more quickly, which can reduce their effectiveness. You should talk to your doctor about all medications and supplements you're taking before you start on Priftin.
