Does NebuPent interact with other medications?

NebuPent (pentamidine isethionate) may interact with other medications. Before taking NebuPent, tell your doctor about all of the prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vitamins and herbal supplements you are taking.

Specifically, tell your doctor if you take any of the following:

  • metoclopramide (Reglan)
  • azathioprine (Imuran)
  • medications for mental illness or depression
  • carbamazepine (Tegretol, Epitol, Carbatrol)
  • valproic acid (Depakote)
  • antibiotics
  • diabetes or blood pressure medications
  • anti-inflammatories, such as ibuprofen (Advil) and naproxen (Aleve)
  • cisplatin (Platinol)
  • cidofovir
  • zidovudine (Retrovir)
  • birth control pills
  • didanosine (Videx)
  • amoxapine
  • ziprasidone
  • arsenic trioxide
  • ranolazine
  • pimozide
  • cisapride
  • phenothiazines
  • droperidol
  • methadone
  • haloperidol
  • heart rhythm medication
  • levomethadyl
  • maprotiline
  • malaria medications
  • vardenafil
  • abarelix
  • tacrolimus
  • alfuzosin
  • cyclobenzaprine
  • cancer medications
  • bowel prep medications
  • skin-numbing medications
  • octreotide
  • nausea medicines
  • medicines to help you sleep during surgery
  • foscarnet
  • gancyclovir
