What should I know about Nebupent before taking it?

NebuPent (pentamidine isethionate) can affect your blood sugar levels. Tell your doctor if you experience symptoms of high or low blood sugar, such as increased or decreased appetite, anxiety or drowsiness. Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The effects of NebuPent during pregnancy or breastfeeding on the fetus or infant are unknown.
Tell your doctor if you have any type of infection or develop one while on this medication. Certain medical conditions may prevent you from taking this medication or you may need to be monitored more closely or you may need a different dose of this medication. These conditions include: diabetes; blood pressure or circulation problems; heart problems; pancreatitis; kidney disease; asthma; problems with dehydration or the need for special diets;   or recent radiation therapy or treatment with chemotherapy.
