How should I take p-aminosalicylic acid?

Your doctor will recommend how much p-aminosalicylic acid you need based on your condition. Typically, you will take two or three doses daily, spaced evenly throughout the day. P-aminosalicylic acid should be taken with an acidic food or drink. The p-aminosalicylic acid particles should be stirred into beverages like orange, apple, or cranberry juice, fruit punch, or sprinkled on top of foods like yogurt or apple sauce. P-aminosalicylic acid should be stored in the refrigerator and kept dry. Moisture or heat will turn the medication purple or brown, which is a sign that it's no longer good.
