Pentamidine can be received either as an injection or with a nebulizer inhaler. If pentamidine is administered through injection, your dose will be slowly infused into a vein by your healthcare provider over a one to two hour time period. Injection treatment is typically prescribed every day for two to three weeks. If pentamidine is inhaled, your doctor will show you how to use the nebulizer. You should take inhaled Pentamidine exactly as prescribed, which is usually once every four weeks.
