Can I take proguanil if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

If you are pregnant or plan to get pregnant, you should not take proguanil without your doctor knowing that you are pregnant. Studies have not confirmed how it may affect your unborn baby. Also, if you are breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking proguanil. Small amounts of proguanil can be passed through breast milk.
