Who should take lopinavir and ritonavir (LPV/r)?

Lopinavir-ritonavir (LPV/r) is intended for people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. HIV easily becomes resistant to drugs, so using a combination of three to five drugs helps keep the virus from building resistance. Lopinavir-ritonavir is approved for use in adults and children as young as six months of age.
