Who should not take ritonavir?

You shouldn't take ritonavir if you are allergic to it or any other ingredient in the drug. Consult with your doctor before taking ritonavir if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Since so many drugs interact adversely with ritonavir, provide your doctor with a detailed list of all the medications and supplements you're currently taking before taking ritonavir. You may not be a good candidate for the drug if you have liver or heart disease, diabetes, a bleeding or heart rhythm disorder or high cholesterol.
