Who should not take Epivir?

Epivir (lamivudine) is not recommended for women who are pregnant or who may become pregnant. In addition, studies have not been done to determine effects on senior adults. In this population, the medication should be used with caution. If you have kidney or liver problems, Epivir may not be the right medication choice for you. Epivir-HBV can treat hepatitis B, but if you have both HIV and hepatitis B, Epivir-HBV is not recommended. Anyone with an allergy to Epivir or to any of its ingredients, should not use Epivir or Epivir-HBV.
