Who should not take Retrovir IV?

Anyone who has a pre-existing liver condition, kidney disease, bone marrow or blood problems or a muscle disorder should not take Retrovir IV. Don't take Retrovir if you have anemia or a low blood count. Other medicines may contain the active ingredient zidovudine, you should not take Retrovir IV in combination with them. Don't take Retrovir IV if you are pregnant unless recommended by a doctor to prevent HIV transmission.
