What is Reyataz?

Reyataz contains the active ingredient atazanavir, a drug in a class of HIV drugs known as protease inhibitors. Reyataz can be used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and the disease the virus causes, acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Like other drugs of its kind, Reyataz works by interfering with an enzyme that the virus needs to replicate and spread in your body. It doesn't cure HIV infection or AIDS, and it won't prevent the spread of the virus to others.
