What is Norvir?

Norvir is a drug used to slow the advancement of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. AIDS is a fatal disease that interferes with the immune system’s ability to fight infection. Norvir does not eliminate HIV from the body, but limits the virus’ ability to reproduce and infect healthy cells. Norvir belongs to a group of drugs called protease inhibitors. It is used in combination with other drugs for maximum effectiveness.
