Liver damage and bleeding in the brain are serious side effects of tipranavir. Other more common side effects are diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, fever, tiredness, headaches and abdominal pain. Additional side effects of tipranavir include: diabetes, bleeding, fat moving to other parts of your body and skin rashes in women who take birth control pills.

Call 911 for emergency medical help if you experience signs of an allergic reaction to tipranavir, including difficulty breathing, a sudden rash, itching and swelling of your lips, tongue and throat.
