What are the side effects of abacavir sulfate, lamivudine and zidovudine?

Many of the side effects of abacavir-lamivudine-zidovudine are mild and do not require immediate medical attention. Common side effects include: constipation; decreased appetite; diarrhea; hair loss; headaches; joint or muscle pain; nausea; nervousness; sleeping problems; tiredness; upset stomach; vomiting; weakness; weight change. Other side effects are more serious and require medical care. Contact a healthcare professional if you experience breathing problems; cough; dark urine; depression; dizziness; excessive hunger, thirst or urination; fainting; fast, shallow breathing; fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat; fever, chills, or sore throat; infection; mouth ulcers; muscle pain, weakness or cramping; numbness, tingling or pain in the hands and feet; pale stools; red, swollen, blistered or peeling skin; seizures; swollen lymph nodes; unexplained weight loss; unusual tiredness or weakness; unusual bleeding or bruising; or yellowing of the skin or eyes. Also, call 911 if you experience signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, hives, itching and facial, tongue or throat swelling along with difficulty breathing.
