Who should not take lamivudine?

You should not take lamivudine if you are being treated for hepatitis C and possibly hepatitis delta. Also, if you have medical conditions involving the pancreas, liver or kidneys or are being treated for diabetes, obesity, nerve damage or neuropathy, you may be harmed by taking lamivudine. Organ transplants may also be unsafe. Lamivudine may also be harmful to people infected with both HIV and HBV.
