Is there a generic version of Edurant?

There is no generic version of Edurant (rilpivirine), a drug that is given with other medications to treat infection with human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1), the virus that can cause acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Edurant is available as a 25 milligram pill that is usually taken once a day, along with other HIV medications, by people who have contracted the HIV-1 infection but have not been treated for it before. It is currently under patent; no generic can be sold until the patent expires.
