What are the side effects of Meprobamate?

Meprobamate can cause a variety of side effects. Stop taking Meprobamate and call 911 for emergency medical treatment if you have symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as hives; swelling of the face, throat, lips or tongue; or trouble breathing. Call your doctor right away if you experience other serious side effects, such as  numbness/tingling, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat, skin rash, abnormal behavior, fever or irregular or fast heartbeat.

Meprobamate side effects that do not require immediate medical attention include: headaches, drowsiness, dizziness or weakness. You may continue to take meprobamate if you experience these symptoms, but should call your doctor if any become persistent or bothersome.
