How does Buspirone interact with other medications or foods?

Patients who have taken MAO (monoamine oxidase) inhibitors within the last 14 days should not take buspirone. Also, people should not consume large amounts of grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking this drug. Other medications that may interact with buspirone include warfarin sodium (a blood thinner), haloperidol, and trazodone. It is also recommended that those taking buspirone do not drink alcohol.
