Who should not use Dermatop ointment?

Dermatop ointment (prednicarbate) should not be used by certain people. Individuals who have Cushing's syndrome should not use Dermatop ointment; long-term use of Dermatop can cause or worsen adrenal gland problems. If you have problems with high blood sugar, whether it is diabetes or hyperglycemia, Dermatop ointment may not be appropriate for you. In addition, if you have intracranial hypertension, where there is increased pressure in your head, your condition can be worsened by Dermatop. The ointment is not appropriate for children under 10 years of age. If you have had an allergic reaction to corticosteroids, you should not use Dermatop ointment. Finally, if you have serious problems with your skin on or near the place where you are applying Dermatop ointment, you should not use it. These problems include: skin infections, broken skin, open sores or other skin injury.
