What should I know about Desonate before using it?

Before using Desonate (desonide) you should inform your doctor if you have had an allergic reaction of any kind to medicine, particularly to corticosteroids, food, dyes, animals or preservatives. Desonate should not be used if there is an infection or sore in the area where it is being applied. Be careful when using it on children or pregnant women, as they may be more sensitive to its effects. It is not known if Desonate passes to an infant through breast milk. Additionally, if you have medical conditions, such as circulation problems, immune system deficiencies or other skin problems, be sure to talk to your doctor before using Desonate. Be sure to keep Desonate away from your eyes.
