What are the risks of using Caldecort?

Because Caldecort contains the active ingredient hydrocortisone acetate, some risk exists when using it long-term. Unwanted side effects, such as abdominal striae (skin streaking) or thinning of treated skin, may develop. Allergic reaction to Caldecort may also occur. Although little is expected to be absorbed into the bloodstream, it is still important to discuss using Caldecort with your doctor if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. More research is needed to determine whether the medication passes into breast milk.
