What are special precautions for desonide (DesOwen, Verdesco, LoKara)?

Desonide (DesOwen, Verdesco, LoKara) cream, lotion, ointment, gel or foam has special precautions that your doctor should discuss with you. These include:

  • Do not take desonide if you know you are allergic to it or any other corticosteroid.
  • Make sure you tell your doctor all prescription drugs and nonprescription substances you are taking, including vitamins, aspirin or any dietary supplements.
  • Make sure you tell your doctor if you have diabetes or have high or low blood sugar, circulatory or immune system problems, or Cushing's syndrome.
