Who should not use Derma-Smoothe/FS?

Certain people should not use Derma-Smoothe/FS (fluocinolone) in order to avoid potential complications or side effects. If you're allergic to any ingredient in Derma-Smoothe/FS, or if you are allergic to peanuts, you shouldn't use this medication. Children younger than three months of age should not use Derma-Smoothe/FS, and you should talk to your doctor before using it for children of any age. Talk to your doctor before using Derma-Smoothe/FS if you have a skin infection, broken skin or if your skin is unusually thinned or hardened. If you have the measles, tuberculosis, chicken pox or have had a vaccination recently, talk to a doctor before you use Derma-Smoothe/FS. It's not known whether Derma-Smoothe/FS may cause harm to a developing fetus or nursing baby, so talk to your doctor before using it if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
