Can I use mometasone furoate if I'm breastfeeding?

Talk to your doctor if you use mometasone furoate cream, lotion or ointment and you want to breastfeed your infant. These products contain drugs called corticosteroids. When taken orally (by mouth), these drugs can pass into breast milk and may interfere with an infant's healthy development. It isn't known whether mometasone furoate preparations applied to the skin have the same effect. Check with your doctor about the safety of using this medication before nursing an infant.
