What should I know about amcinonide cream before taking it?

Children should use amcinonide cream sparingly because, as a corticosteroid, it can affect their growth if used in excess. The area being treated with cream should not be covered tightly (including by diapers), as this can cause the cream to be absorbed into the skin too quickly. You may need blood tests to determine if the cream is causing harmful long-term effects. If you are diabetic, the cream may affect glucose levels in your blood; talk to your doctor before starting use of the cream. Amcinonide cream should not be used to treat skin conditions it wasn't prescribed for. Avoid getting amcinonide cream in the eyes and flush the eyes with plenty of water if you do.
