Who should not use Alcaine?

Certain people should not use Alcaine in order to avoid potential complications or side effects. If you're allergic to any ingredient in Alcaine or if you've ever had a reaction to other anesthetics, you shouldn't use this medication. If you have heart problems or hyperthyroidism, talk to your doctor before using Alcaine. It's not known whether Alcaine may cause harm to a developing or nursing baby, so women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should talk to their doctors before using Alcaine. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about whether you should use Alcaine.
