What are the side effects of tetracaine?

Some people may have an allergic reaction to both forms of tetracaine, causing symptoms such as hives, swelling in your face or throat and difficulty breathing. Other serious side effects are bronchospasm and shock. If any of these occur, call 911. Other side effects of tetracaine may include stinging, burning, swelling, skin rash or other irritation on the skin where tetracaine is applied. Other side effects may occur, so talk to your doctor if you develop any new and unusual symptoms while taking tetracaine.
