Who should not get a bupavacaine hydrochloride and epinephrine injection?

People who are allergic to bupivacaine or to any local anesthetic of the amide type should not receive bupivacaine-epinephrine injection. In addition, children under 12 years of age should not receive bupivacaine-epinephrine, nor should pregnant women, due to a lack of adequate studies with this group.
