What should I know before being administered enflurane?

You may temporarily experience a decrease in mental function after being administered enflurane. You should return to normal in two or three days. Small mood changes may also occur.
Enflurane may trigger your body to have dangerously high potassium levels, which causes your heart to beat too quickly or too slowly. People with Duchenne muscular dystrophy or other neuromuscular diseases are most likely to experience this. Some people may also experience malignant hyperthermia, a condition that causes unstable blood pressure and muscle rigidity. People with any sort of heart or blood vessel condition should be cautious when taking this drug.
