Does desflurane interact with other medications or food?

Desflurane does interact with certain medications. It is known to interact with cisatracurium, hydromorphone, oxycodone and St. John's Wort. It may also interact with other medications or foods. Check with your doctor or pharmacist to check on possible interactions. For a full day after using desflurane, you should avoid alcohol or any medications that depress your system or cause drowsiness. These include: sedatives, allergy medications, cold medications, sleeping medications, muscle relaxants, seizure, tranquilizers, barbiturates, narcotics, anxiety medications and others.
