Desflurane does interact with certain medications. It is known to interact with cisatracurium, hydromorphone, oxycodone and St. John's Wort. It may also interact with other medications or foods. For a full day after using desflurane, you should avoid alcohol or any medications that depress your system or cause drowsiness. These include: sedatives, allergy medications, cold medications, sleeping medications, muscle relaxants, seizure, tranquilizers, barbiturates, narcotics, anxiety medications and others.
