Is testosterone replacement therapy dangerous?

Testosterone replacement therapy, when done by an experienced physician, is extremely safe and effective. Men who have optimal testosterone levels have decreased all-cause mortality (meaning they live longer!) and have less osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease, cardiovascular disease and depression.

If you are considering testosterone replacement, or suspect your testosterone may be low or sub-optimal (if you are over 35 years old, there is a good chance it is), be sure to see a physician who is experienced in hormonal optimization because a full hormonal panel should be done. All your hormones work together like a symphony and tuning up one instrument will not make for a great performance if the others are out of sync!
